Q. How long does it take to get from the Airport to Playa de las Americas ?
A. It takes approximately 10 - 20 minutes from Tenerife South Airport, by taxi. The cost of journey is about 18 Euros. If you travel by bus, it will take about 25 minutes.
Q. I've heard there is more than 1 airport, is it true ?
A. That is quite true. There are in fact two (2) airports on Tenerife. Aeropuerto Reina Sofia (TFS) and Aeropuerto del Norte (TFN). The normal airport for most Charter flights is Reina Sofia (TFS), this is the airport in the South of the Island. The aiport in the North (TFN) is mainly for Domestic flights and occasionally for certain Schedule services.

A. Tenerife is actually on the same time zone as the U.K. There is only one week in the year when they are 1 hour ahead of the U.K.
Q. What is the crime rate like in Tenerife ?
A. Unfortunately, the crime rate has increased over the last few years. A lot of the crime is opportunistic, i.e. snatch thieves. Please make sure that you do not carry more money / cards than is absolutely necessary. If you have paid for the use of the Safety Deposit Box in the apartments, please use them ! !
